GIA Graduate Diamonds Diploma Program Offered in Surat

Specialisation in the programme leads to various career opportunities from becoming a diamondgrader, buyer, sorter, wholesaler, retailer and more.

Students use professional diamond grading equipment for the purpose of examining a diamond’s quality characteristics to grade and identify diamonds. Using the 4Cs and the International Diamond Grading System™ students will grade D-to-Z diamonds, learn to detect diamonds -synthetics, treatments and stimulants – and recognise when advanced testing is required. Coursework also includes plotting diagrams and determining florescence.Students will receive tweezers, a 10x loupe, a pointer probe, plotting pens, a gem cloth, a table gauge, a crown angle card, a colour grading card, a lab manual and printed course materials.

In addition to classroom lessons, GIA facilitates hands-on learning through regular market visits – such as manufacturing facilities and retail houses – to gain an understanding of day-to-day business. Students have a unique opportunity to experience the journey of a diamond.
