The eagerly awaited annual exhibition of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai was inaugurated on 25th September 2021 at IIGJ Campus, MIDC, Andheri East, Mumbai 400093. Each year the Glimpz 21 exhibition showcases brilliant, trendsetting designs created by graduating students of the prestigious institution. Each design on display not only undergoes a rigorous process of evaluation by in-house faculty but is also assessed by renowned industry experts from the world of jewellery.
 
Announcing the dates of the exhibition, Mr. Kirit Bhansali, Chairman, IIGJ Mumbai said,
” In these unprecedented pandemic times, I am delighted that the fifteenth graduating batch of IIGJ Mumbai overcame all hurdles and are now showcasing their final project ‘GLIPMZ 2021’.  It is indeed a pleasure and a pride for all of us to witness the wide array of creative collections of jewellery crafted by the students which not only reflect innovations in their designs but also highlight their resolve to prove themselves to the world.”
 
Glimpz 21 Theme: This year the theme is India…Enticing Land of Wonders, based on the concept of the unique crafts and architecture that are exclusive to each Indian State and its ethos. Indian-ness has become a universal phenomenon which is experienced by everyone from his or her own perspective.

Commenting on this year’s students’ creations at Glimpz 21, the Chief Guest Mr. Somasundaram PR told students, “You’re the best of the best! What I saw (today) was the epitome of creativity…shows that the (jewellery) industry is in good hands. I’ve been really impressed by their creations…I was surprised to know that they made these themselves…”
 
About IIGJ: The Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) Mumbai is an initiative of Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and was established in 2003.
IIGJ Mumbai is renowned for its 3-Year B.A. in Gems & Jewellery and 1 Year Post Graduate Diploma in Jewellery Management programmes as well as short term, intensive courses. All courses offered are structured to fit in with jewellery industry requirements. Students are provided a thorough, all-round training to become quality resources for the jewellery industry. Apart from jewellery design, students are trained in 2D & 3D CAD, gemmology, manufacturing techniques and jewellery merchandising as well as personality development and English-language.
This holistic training gives them all the right tools for bright futures in the fast-growing jewellery industry in India and abroad.
